Every Life has Value

Platform

Of the many people suffering injustice and living at the mercy of others, children are the most vulnerable. Often considered the property of their parents or guardians, they have no rights and no one to defend them. Children are not property, they have souls and lives of their own, they deserve to be heard and respected.

I have enjoyed an interesting life that intertwined with thousands of beautiful people from numerous backgrounds and worldviews. It is an amazing blessing. So many lovely people with unique perspectives all looking for safety, acceptance and peace. I feel the injustice and atrocities occurring all over the world happen because those needs are not being met for everyone. The horrible acts are committed out of desperation, fear and misunderstanding. Sometimes by people trying to make the world safer for themselves by forcing their values on to others and sometimes by people trying to succeed by depriving others. If this continues, there will be no peace or prosperity for anyone.

We are not separated from one another. We share this world together. We are not data, statistics or labels. Each person has value, though some may lose their way and forget their worth. We must see the value in each of us if we want to have peace. As long as we see any member of society as expendable, we will have discrimination and violence. Beyond this, the only way to fix our world is to fix ourselves. We are the only ones responsible for our actions. If we want different in the world, then we need to live that difference. We need to lead by example. We have enough in the world for us all if we are willing to share it with one another.
